Dolores J. "Dee" Tormey, 91, died peacefully at Grandview Health Center after a brief illness.
Dee, a lifelong Lincoln resident, also loved her summers at Point Judith or navigating her boat along Narragansett Bay. She was an accomplished tennis player and she enjoyed many digital devices.
Dee attended Holy Trinity School in Central Falls, St. Xavier Academy, Class of 1948, Rhode Island College of Education Class of 1952 and received her MA degree from Boston University.
A lifelong educator, Dee taught History, US Government and the Constitution and served as Department Head of Social Studies at North Quincy High School for many years.
She was a daughter of the late John M. and Mary C. (Grady) Tormey. She was predeceased by her sisters Marie (Tormey) Gibson and Eileen T. Tormey and her brother John Tormey.
She leaves two nieces, two nephews, a grand nephew and a grand niece, whom all loved her and will miss her greatly.
Respecting Dee’s wishes, calling hours will be omitted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at St. Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion, RI. Interment to follow at the parish cemetery.
